1. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY): Launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, PMKVY aims to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training to help them secure a better livelihood. The scheme provides monetary rewards for successful completion of training programs.
2. Skill India: Skill India is a campaign launched by the Government of India with the goal of training over 40 crore people in India in different skills by 2022. It includes various initiatives and programs, such as PMKVY, aimed at skill development and entrepreneurship.
3. National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC): NSDC is a public-private partnership organization that promotes skill development by catalyzing the creation of large, quality and for-profit vocational institutions. It also provides funding and support to training providers and creates awareness about skill development.
4. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY): DDU-GKY is the skill training and placement program of the Ministry of Rural Development. It focuses on the rural youth between the ages of 15 and 35 years from poor families.
5. Skill Development Initiative Scheme (SDIS): This scheme aims to provide vocational training to school leavers, existing workers, ITI graduates, etc., to improve their employability by optimizing the existing infrastructure.
6. Udaan: Udaan is a special industry initiative by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, aiming to provide skills and enhance the employability of unemployed youth in Jammu & Kashmir.
7. Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS): CTS is a flagship scheme under the Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, providing skill training in various engineering and non-engineering trades.
