Homi Jahangir Bhabha was an Indian nuclear physicist, visionary scientist, and the founding director of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR). Homi Bhabha belonged to a wealthy Parsi family. He pursued his early education at Bombay’s Cathedral and John Connon School and later attended Elphinstone College. In 1927, he traveled to Cambridge, England, to study mechanical engineering at Gonville and Caius College. He eventually shifted his focus to theoretical physics and earned his doctorate in 1934.
