Sundarlal Sharma was born on August 26, 1908, in Raipur, in present-day Chhattisgarh, India. He completed his education from Nagpur University, earning a degree in law.

Sundarlal Sharma’s Role in the Independence Movement:

Sharma actively participated in the Indian freedom struggle against British colonial rule. He was associated with the Indian National Congress and worked closely with leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He participated in various nonviolent movements, protests, and agitations organized by the Congress Party.

Post-Independence Contribution of Sundarlal Sharma:

After India gained independence in 1947, Sundarlal Sharma continued his work in social and political spheres. He became the Chief Minister of the state of Madhya Pradesh (which included the present-day state of Chhattisgarh) in 1952. In his work, Mahatma Gandhi, praising his Harijnodari work, considered him as his guru in this work. In 1920 AD, ‘Kandel Nehar Satyagraha’ was successful in the leadership of Dhamtari under his leadership. Mahatma Gandhi came to Raipur for the first time on December 20, 1920, through his efforts.
