Biography of Shyamsundar Das:
Babu Shyamsundar Das, the exclusive servant of Hindi literature, was born in 1857 in Kashi’s famed Khanna family. His father’s name was Devidas Khanna and mother’s name was Devaki Devi. His childhood was spent with great happiness and joy. They were first taught Sanskrit and grammar. After passing the Intermediate examination from the Mission School, he got B.A. at Prayag University. Admission to the class, but due to lack of proper health, Kashi passed the examination from Queen’s College in 1897 AD. After the economic situation became odd due to the time, he got Rs 40 in the ‘Chandraprabha’ press. From the determination of the curriculum, by eliminating many obstacles in the path of university-level education of Hindi language and literature, efficiently operating and promoting the Hindi department. In this way, he is credited with the enforcement and organizing of higher education in Hindi. At that time there was lack of university-level textbooks and Aloktan texts. He himself edited the required texts, wrote the reviews and written with his well-known colleagues.
