Born on May 25, 1985, in Pensacola, Florida, Reigns belongs to the Anoa’i wrestling family, which includes his father Sika Anoa’i and his cousins Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Yokozuna.

Reigns played college football at Georgia Institute of Technology and later at Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars. He had brief stints in the NFL and CFL (Canadian Football League) before pursuing a career in professional wrestling.

Roman Reigns made his professional wrestling debut in WWE’s (World Wrestling Entertainment) developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), in 2010. He later joined the main roster and gained significant popularity as a member of The Shield, a dominant faction alongside Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.
