Cricket Career:

Ravi Shastri made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 1981 in both Test and One Day International (ODI) formats. He played 80 Test matches, scoring 3,830 runs and taking 151 wickets. In ODIs, he scored 3,108 runs and took 129 wickets in 150 matches. He was part of the Indian team that won the World Championship of Cricket in Australia in 1985, where he was named the Player of the Tournament. Shastri was also known for his remarkable performances in Test cricket, including being the first Indian to score a double century at Lord’s in 1990.

After retiring from international cricket in 1992, Ravi Shastri transitioned into coaching and commentary.
