Raj Kapoor came from a family deeply rooted in the Indian entertainment industry. His father, Prithviraj Kapoor, was a pioneering actor and the founder of Prithvi Theatres. Raj Kapoor made his acting debut at the age of 11 in the film “Inquilab” (1935). He later worked as an assistant director before making his first lead appearance in “Neel Kamal” (1947).

In 1948, Raj Kapoor founded his own film production company, R.K. Films, and directed his first film, “Aag” (1948). The film was followed by a series of successful movies, and Kapoor’s production house became one of the most influential in the Indian film industry.

Raj Kapoor was married to Krishna Kapoor, and the couple had five children, including the actors Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, and Rajiv Kapoor.

Raj Kapoor’s contributions to Indian cinema earned him numerous awards, including multiple Filmfare Awards. He is remembered as the “Showman of Indian Cinema” and remains an enduring figure in Bollywood’s history.
