Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi (1929-2023) was an Indian hotelier and the executive chairman of the third-largest hospitality chain in India, the Oberoi Group. He was born on February 3,929, in New Delhi, India. He was educated at St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling, India, and later in the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

He was a graduate in hotel management from Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2008, the government of India awarded Oberoi the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour, in recognition of his exceptional service to the country. He had three children, including Vikram S. Oberoi, who is currently the CEO and managing director of EIH. Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi passed away on November4, 2023, at the age of 94.
