Lala Lajpat Rai was born into a Punjabi Aggarwal family. He studied law at Government College in Lahore and later went to England to study law further. While in England, he became an active member of the Indian community there and participated in various political and social reform activities.

Upon his return to India, Lajpat Rai became a prominent leader of the Indian Nationalist Movement. He, along with Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandra Pal, was a part of the famous trio known as ‘Lal-Bal-Pal.’ They advocated the idea of self-reliance and swadeshi (indigenous) products to boycott British goods.

Lajpat Rai was a staunch advocate for the rights of Indian farmers and workers. He protested against the oppressive policies of the British government and was involved in various movements and agitations, including the Non-Cooperation Movement and the Civil Disobedience Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi.
