Chandrasekhar, who was battling cancer, was kept in intensive care in the hospital for the last one week. Samajwadi Janata Party (Sajpa) National President Chandrasekhar was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital for the last three months. In view of his serious condition, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh went to Apollo Hospital on Saturday to inquire about his health.
