Bernard Cornwell was born on February 23, 1944, in London, England, but he was raised in Essex. He was adopted by a family belonging to a religious sect called the Peculiar People, and he later discovered his birth name was Bernard Wiggins. Cornwell struggled with dyslexia during his childhood, which made his early education challenging.
Military Service of Bernard Cornwell:
Cornwell studied at the University of London, where he pursued a degree in Political Science. After graduating, he worked as a teacher. Later, he joined the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), where he worked as a producer and reporter for the news program.
