Ghaziabad. Ghaziabad Police has arrested Sub Inspector Sachin Kumar posted at Alambagh police station in Lucknow. The inspector’s girlfriend had filed a case at Ankur Vihar police station alleging rape. The victim alleges that Sachin Kumar promised to marry her and established a relationship with her. When he got selected in UP Police, he refused to talk about marriage. The girl had filed a case in Ghaziabad. After registering the case, the police came into action and reached Alambagh police station to arrest Sachin Kumar. Seeing the police, the Inspector said that he himself is a Sub Inspector. When the police narrated the entire matter, the Inspector handed himself over to the police.
The girl alleged in the report, ‘We became friends while studying in college. We both were studying in the same college since 2016. In 2019, Sachin proposed me and started a relationship with me, promising to marry me. He got selected in UP Police in 2023. As soon as he got selected in UP Police, he retracted the talk of marriage.
The victim said, ‘Sachin took me to a hotel in Ghaziabad on July 27, 2024. He had a relationship with me with the promise of marriage. Then he started avoiding me. He started threatening to implicate my family in a false case. He used to say that I am a policeman and no one can do anything to me.
The girl accused Sachin Kumar’s brother-in-law and sister. The victim said, ‘After becoming Inspector, whenever I talked about marriage with Sachin, he started postponing it. His sister and brother-in-law asked him to stay away from Sachin. Threatened with dire consequences if he did not do so.
Regarding the arrest, ACP Ankur Vihar Bhaskar Verma said, ‘After registering a case on the basis of the girl’s complaint, Inspector Sachin Kumar has been arrested from Alambagh police station in Lucknow. He will be presented in the court.
