Kullu. Now invitation letters regarding Dussehra have been distributed in Devi Bhoomi Kullu. For this Mahakumbh of Gods and Goddesses, invitation letters have been sent to 332 Gods and Goddesses by the Dussehra Committee. While all the Gods and Goddesses of the valley will participate in the International Kullu Dussehra Festival, this time many Gods and Goddesses of Ani sub-division have also been invited to participate in Dussehra for the first time.
Invitation letters are sent by the Dussehra committee to all the gods and goddesses of Kullu district, whose temples are recorded in the revenue records. These gods and goddesses come from different valleys of district Kullu to participate in the Dussehra festival. Many gods and goddesses of Manali, Ani, and Banjar sub-divisions also participate in this festival. This invitation letter is sent to the temples through the Tehsildar. Complete arrangements for the stay and security of the gods and goddesses who receive the invitation are made by the Dussehra Committee. Besides, they are also given tribute at the time of return.
Invitation sent to 332 gods and goddesses
This time invitation letters have been sent to 332 gods and goddesses for Dussehra. Kullu Dussehra Committee President Sunder Thakur said that invitations are sent to all the gods and goddesses who come every year. However, some deities are not able to reach here even after receiving the invitation. Last year, 315 gods and goddesses participated in this Mahakumbh. This time it is expected that even more gods and goddesses will come to the festival.
Invitation also sent to Shringa Rishi and Balunag
Sunder Thakur told that this time invitation has also been sent to the deities of Banjar, Shringa Rishi and Balunag to participate in Dussehra. Although, both these deities used to come to Dussehra every year even without invitation letter, but due to the ongoing dispute between them, they were kept under house arrest in their respective camps under police protection.
Where will the gods and goddesses coming during Dussehra stay?
All the gods and goddesses coming for Kullu Dussehra will stay in temporary camps at the identified places in and around Dhalpur grounds. During this Dussehra festival which lasts for 7 days, Lord Raghunath will also bless the people by staying in a temporary camp in Dhalpur. The administration has made concrete arrangements for all the gods and goddesses coming to Kullu.
