New Delhi. The England team, which is on Pakistan tour, is currently playing in the first match of the three-match Test series. Fast bowler Olly Stone’s name was not included in the playing eleven of the Multan Test match. He is returning home from Pakistan. It is being told that this player is going to get married soon, that is why he has left the tour of Pakistan midway.
According to a report by ESPNCricinfo, Stone is getting married this weekend. Will leave the team on Wednesday 9 October. The date of his wedding has not been confirmed, but it is unlikely that Stone will be able to return in time for the second Test starting at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday next week.
The 30-year-old England fast bowler was not included in England’s XI for the first Test against Pakistan. The team led by Ollie Pope decided to give the debut cap to Brayden Carse. Stone will return home earlier than planned for his wedding. According to reports, the England management is supporting Stone’s decision to leave Pakistan and get married.
Additionally, Stone had discussed his situation with England managing director Rob Key and coach Brendon McCullum before the tour. He agreed that Stone should return home for the wedding. Before the Test series, Stone had revealed that his wedding had been planned with the expectation that he would be playing for Notts. He also said that his wife supported his every proposal and expressed her commitment to make it successful.
Stone told the BBC: “We fixed the wedding date on the basis that I was only playing for Notts at the time. Jess said she was open to changing the wedding date and I was determined to keep it on the same date as much as possible. “For all the sacrifices he has made for me, I thought the least I can do is try to make it a success.”
