Saharsa/ Mohd. Sarfaraz Alam: In view of the increasing crowd in Saharsa city on the occasion of Durga Puja, the traffic police has made major changes in the traffic system. To control congestion and ensure smooth flow of traffic, a complete ban has been imposed on the entry of heavy vehicles in the city, and four new parking spaces have also been created.

Giving information, Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police Praveen Kumar said that this decision has been taken to improve the traffic system in the city during Durga Puja. Under this, along with banning the entry of big vehicles, routes have been diverted on many routes.
– Vehicles coming from Baijnathpur will be diverted towards the bypass from Yadav Chowk and Tiwari Chowk.
– E-rickshaws going from Mahavir Chowk towards Shankar Chowk will now ply via Dahlan Chowk, Gandhi Path, and Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk.
– E-rickshaws going from the station towards Shankar Chowk will operate via the vegetable market.
– E-rickshaws going from Refugee Colony towards Collectorate Matsyagandha will pass through Sarahi Naya Bazaar.
– The operation of e-rickshaw going from Thana Chowk to Shankar Chowk will remain the same.
– E-rickshaws going from Police Station Chowk towards Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk Court will run via the supermarket.
– Movement of large vehicles from Tiwari Chowk towards Purba Bazaar will be closed and will be diverted via Lakshminiya Chowk Polytechnic Dhala.
– The operation of e-rickshaws between Kachari Chowk and Koshi Chowk will be completely closed.
Four new parking spaces were created
Keeping the congestion in mind, four parking lots have also been created:
1. Supermarket
2. In front of Prashant Cinema Hall
3. East of Shivpuri Puja Pandal
4. Patel Maidan

The Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police has appealed to the public not to park their vehicles wrongly on the roadside and has urged the establishment owners to move their shops away from the road, so that both crowd and traffic can be controlled. These rules will remain in force till the last day of Durga Puja. With these efforts of the traffic police, it is expected that the traffic system in the city will remain smooth during Durga Puja, so that the devotees do not have to face any inconvenience.
