Ever since the victory in the Haryana elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has been continuously attacking the opposition Congress and especially Rahul Gandhi. The Haryana unit of BJP is happy with the victory in the assembly elections and in this connection it has also sent a gift to Rahul Gandhi. Although this gift is mouth-watering, it was bound to leave a bitter taste for Congress.
Haryana BJP shared a picture on social media platform X after the election results were declared on Tuesday. This was a screenshot of an order placed on the food delivery app Zomato, in which one kilo of Jalebi was sent to the Congress headquarters for Rahul Gandhi. BJP wrote in its post, ‘Jalebi has been sent to Rahul Gandhi’s house on behalf of all the workers of Bharatiya Janata Party in Haryana.’
Why did BJP send Jalebi?
In fact, during the election campaign in Gohana, Haryana, Rahul Gandhi had said that the famous Jalebi of Matu Ram Halwai should be made on a large scale here and sold across the country, which generates employment and revenue. He claimed that Jalebi sellers have suffered losses due to the Centre’s GST.
BJP leaders started taking a dig at this statement of Rahul and within no time, amidst the election excitement, Jalebi also came into the headlines. BJP leaders said that Rahul Gandhi does not know how Jalebi is made. Former Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, ‘I also like Gohana Jalebi… but you have to understand how they are made and sold.’
‘Jalebi must be tasting bitter’
Now, after the victory in Haryana elections, BJP has got another weapon to attack Rahul Gandhi. BJP leaders and ministers took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi and said that he might be finding ‘Jalebi’ bitter today.
Let us tell you that on Tuesday, BJP, overcoming the anti-incumbency wave in Haryana, won for the third consecutive time and dashed the hopes of Congress’s comeback. BJP gave its best performance in the history of Haryana and won 48 seats. Earlier, BJP had formed the government in Haryana on its own for the first time by winning 47 seats in the 2014 assembly elections. It got 40 seats in the 2019 elections.
