School Closed
These days, the country’s capital Delhi is facing the brunt of air pollution and rain in many states has made life difficult for people. According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclonic circulation over the Andaman Sea turned into a low pressure area on Monday and is likely to turn into a cyclonic storm by October 23, with several states in its wake. For this reason, Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru has also been receiving heavy rains for the last two days.
Administration closed schools
This heavy rain has greatly affected the normal life in Bengaluru. In view of this, the administration has taken a big decision and closed the schools. According to the information, it has been raining heavily in Bengaluru for the last 2 days, due to which normal life has been disrupted and many low-lying areas and roads have been waterlogged.
Schools and Anganwadi centers closed
Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner Jagadish ji has ordered the closure of schools and Anganwadi centers on Monday in view of heavy rains. This is the second time within a week that schools are being closed due to rain in Bengaluru. People are reaching their destination through submerged roads. Also, many trees fell in the city, due to which vehicular movement was affected.
Orange alert issued
IMD has issued orange alert in Bengaluru today. “Moderate to heavy rain/thundershowers very likely at isolated places over Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts,” the bulletin said.

IMD said in a special message that the cyclonic circulation formed over the North Andaman Sea and the adjacent Bay of Bengal on Sunday has created a low pressure area over the East-Central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent North Andaman Sea. The department further said, “It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression on the morning of October 22 and into a cyclonic storm over east-central Bay of Bengal by October 23.” The department further said that this storm is more likely to move in the north-west direction and reach the north-west of the Bay of Bengal near the coasts of Odisha and West Bengal by the morning of 24 October.
