Lucknow. Before the announcement of assembly by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, political activity has intensified. Samajwadi Party has created a stir in the alliance by announcing candidates on six seats. On the other hand, Congress leaders are giving a befitting reply by claiming that the alliance is intact. He is not trying to incur any displeasure from the SP chief through rhetoric. Therefore, the entire strategy of Congress for by-elections depends on the mood of SP.

Actually, by-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats in UP. Under the alliance, Congress had suggested a 50-50 formula. That means contesting elections on 5-5 seats under half share. Under this, UP Congress claimed Manjhwa, Phulpur, Khair, Ghaziabad and Meerapur seats. But, in the recently held Haryana elections, Congress refused to form an alliance with SP. Earlier in Madhya Pradesh also, SP was betrayed by Congress at the last moment.

Congress is talking about continuing the alliance
This time, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, maintaining silence, declared candidates on six seats without talking to Congress. These also include those seats on which Congress was claiming. In such a situation, it is believed that SP has given a ‘tit-for-tat’ political reply to Congress. On the other hand, the state leadership of Congress is avoiding unnecessary statements by putting the issue of alliance and seats on the national leadership. Its strategy now depends on SP’s next step. According to Congress spokesperson Anshu Awasthi, the party’s alliance will remain intact in the by-elections also.

Candidates declared for six seats
Samajwadi Party has announced candidates for six seats for the by-elections to be held in UP. The party has made Tej Pratap Yadav its candidate for Karhal assembly seat. SP President Akhilesh Yadav was elected MLA from this seat, but after becoming MP, the seat became vacant. Similarly, Naseem Solanki from Sisamau assembly seat, Mustafa Siddiqui from Phulpur, Ajit Prasad from Milkipur, Shobhawati Verma from Katehari and Dr. Jyoti Bind from Manjhwa assembly seat have been made candidates.
