Sirohi News: सारणेश्वर महादेव के दानपात्रों से निकले 8.19 लाख रुपए, एक साल बाद खुला था दानपात्र

Sirohi: Donation boxes were opened after a year in Aaradhyadev Saraneshwar Mahadev Temple of the district. It took 8 hours to count the offerings from the donation box. The historical Sarneshwar Mahadev Temple located in Sirohi is considered to be the deity of Jalore Sirohi. Devotees from far away places come here for darshan. People of Devasi community from Rajasthan and Gujarat also reach the fair celebrating Devjhulani Ekadashi. In the temple, on the orders of Sirohi Tehsildar Deshlaram Parihar, the team formed by Devasthan Board Sirohi opened two donation boxes at 11 am.

8 lakh 19 thousand 873 rupees came out of this. The team opened the donation box in the presence of former King Padmashree Raghuveer Singh Deora. The amount taken out from the donation box was divided into four pieces by the committee and handed over to the representative Rameshchandra Bhatt at the Devasthan Board, Sirohi. After this the donation box was sealed again and kept in the temple.

Offerings received were Rs 2 lakh less than last year
At 11 am, two donation boxes of the temple, one big and one small, were opened. Counting of notes continued till 7.20 in the evening. Earlier this donation box was opened in September 2023. Then Rs 10 lakh 25 thousand were withdrawn. In such a situation, this year the offering received in the temple was Rs 2 lakh less than last year. The calculation of the amount was done in the presence of Revenue Department Assistant Accounts Officer Ishwar Singh Rathore, TRA Recovery Suresh Patel, Office Kanungo Tehsil Haja Sirohi, Additional Office Kanungo, Land Records Inspector Rampura, Sirohi, Mermandwara, Jawal and Padiv etc. personnel.

The temple is handed over to the Rebari community for a day.
The temple is being operated by the Devasthan Board, but there comes a day in the year when the temple is handed over to the Rebari community for a day. The reason for this is that in the year 1299, to protect the Shivling of the temple from the army of Alauddin Khilji, the people of Rebari community of Sirohi showed courage and attacked Khilji’s army with a sling from the hill.

Because of which Khilji’s army had to face defeat. Seeing the decisive contribution of Rebari community and their sacrifice, the then Sirohi King Maharao Vijayraj had decided to hand over the charge of the temple to Rebari for one day on Devjhulani Ekadashi. Since then this tradition is continuing till today.
