Pt. Vijayshankar Mehta
It is a matter of good fortune for our country that we keep doing new experiments regarding temple management. Some become successful, some fail. Two people create major obstacles in temple management. One is those whose instinct is to attack religion. And others are those people who have an indifferent attitude towards religion. Want to distance yourself from religion. One country is Belgium, where years ago 80% people used to go to church, now 10% are going there. We do not see such danger here.
But that country opened hotels, supermarkets etc. in the church to attract people. Now we also did some experiments. We built corridors. This should be appreciated. Renovated the temples, it is worthy of worship. But our intentions behind this should not be only for tourism and fun. When a person reaches a religious place, there should be exertion of the body, purification of the mind and satisfaction of the soul. Then it will be believed that we have really brought something from the temple.
