During the days of Navratri, Goddess Durga comes to earth for nine days and blesses her devotees. Pandit Anand Bhardwaj of Ujjain told which goddess should be worshiped on the eighth day of Navratri.
The eighth day of Navratri is dedicated to Mother Mahagauri. Worshiping Mother Mahagauri brings happiness in life. By worshiping them properly, financial and mental problems also go away. The form of Mother Mahagauri is very amazing and beautiful.
Know the nature of Maa Mahagauri
Mother has so many different forms. Mahagauri is worshiped on the eighth day of Navratri. Mother Mahagauri’s complexion is very fair (fair or white). Even their clothes and jewelery are all white. Mother has four arms and her vehicle is a bull. The mother has Abhaya Mudra in her upper hand on her right side and a trident in her lower hand. There is Damru in the upper left hand and Var Mudra in the lower hand.
How did mother get the name Mahagauri?
According to religious belief, to get Lord Shiva as her husband, the goddess had performed rigorous penance due to which her body had turned black. Pleased with the devotion of Lord Shankar Devi, he cleaned his mother’s body with Ganga water. Then the form of the goddess became very beautiful and fair in complexion and from then on she was named Gauri.
