Satna: In Satna, Madhya Pradesh, the road from Rewa Road, National Highway 75, Industrial Area More to Dharam Kanta was completely dug up from one side, due to which vehicles from both the sides were coming and going from the same side. There was anger among the shopkeepers and local residents of the area due to the slow work of the sewer line. His complaint was that despite this work going on since February, no barricade or diversion sign was installed there, due to which 3-4 vehicles were meeting with accidents every day.
Resentment among traders and local people
According to the shopkeepers, there was no progress in this work for the last 8 days, due to which their business was getting affected. Customers were hesitant in coming due to potholes in the sewer line. People of the area were continuously appealing to the administration through Local 18 that an officer should come to the spot and investigate and take concrete steps to prevent accidents. People said that if action is not taken soon, regional trade could be badly affected.
Relief from administration’s activism
After Local 18 highlighted this issue, the administration took immediate action and filled the sewer line pit in the Dharam Kanta-Deep Nala area within 2-3 days. The remaining work is now being completed by installing barricades. Citizens troubled by the slow pace of this work which has been going on for a long time, have now got relief. The construction work is being completed rapidly. Local residents and businessmen have appreciated the administration’s activism and Local 18’s efforts.
