Kushinagar. Recently, an attempt was made to incite riots in Kushinagar of Uttar Pradesh by pelting stones at the Durga idol. After the incident of fighting and stone pelting on the organizers while carrying the Durga idol, police action has now started. Police have arrested 33 accused involved in the incident. Police have also arrested 24 men, 5 minor children and four women who were involved in fighting and stone pelting.
After the arrest of the accused, SP Santosh Kumar Mishra presented them before the media. Let us tell you that 2 days ago, while taking the Durga idol to the cantonment in the Muslim dominated area of Padrauna Kotwali, some people had raised objection about the bhajan being played on the DJ. There was a dispute after this. The dispute escalated so much that people of the Muslim community attacked the organizers carrying the Durga idol, beat them up and also pelted stones.
The lion statue was damaged
The lion statue attached to the Durga idol was also damaged due to stone pelting. After this, a large number of people from Hindu community had arrived, but heavy police force reached the spot and took control of the matter. The police had registered a case against hundreds of unknown people and started arresting them. Police have also arrested 33 people so far. SP Santosh Kumar Mishra said that those who break the law will not be spared under any circumstances. Whoever is involved in this incident will be arrested and sent to jail.
