KurukshetraNaib Saini was seen in action in Haryana on Friday. He visited grain markets in Kurukshetra. During this period, two officers were suspended for negligence in purchasing paddy. Naib Singh Saini was on a tour of Pipli, Ladwa and Babain Mandi of Kurukshetra on Friday. During his investigation, he found negligence in the purchase of paddy. On this, HAFED manager Kuldeep Jangda and DFSC department inspector Sandeep Ahlawat were suspended for negligence in Ladwa. Acting Chief Minister Naib Singh had said that farmers and commission agents should not face any problem in purchasing paddy in the mandis.
Earlier, Naib Saini ended the strike after assurance from Haryana Rice Millers Association. In a meeting held with representatives of Haryana Rice Millers Association in Chandigarh, Naib Singh Saini heard various demands and assured solutions.
Rs 155 crore deposited into farmers’ accounts after purchasing paddy
During the continuous government procurement of paddy under the Kharif Marketing Season 2024-25 in Haryana, till now 7 lakh 25 thousand 158 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased across the state. So far 1 lakh 61 thousand 922 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted. For this, till now an amount of Rs 155.23 crore has been sent directly to the bank accounts of the farmers. This time, due to the facility of online gate pass, farmers have got a lot of convenience in selling their crops.

A spokesperson of the Food and Supplies Department said that till now a total of 13,38,114 metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in various mandis of the state and various government agencies are purchasing paddy in the mandis. The work of purchasing paddy will continue till November 15, 2024. Paddy is being purchased at the minimum support price set by the government. The minimum support price of common paddy is Rs 2300 per quintal and the support price of Grade-A paddy is Rs 2320 per quintal. Paddy is being procured in 241 markets and procurement centers in the state and instructions have been given to purchase only paddy with moisture content up to 17%.
