Due to three consecutive floods, about 100 acres of paddy crop was completely submerged, due to which dozens of farmers have been badly affected. Due to administrative negligence and non-payment of compensation, farmers’ worries are increasing. Farmers are also angry due to not getting compensation.

Flooding is not a new thing in Bisra ward situated on the banks of Saryu river. Every year hundreds of acres of paddy crops are destroyed due to floods. This year also the story remained the same. About 100 acres of paddy crop was destroyed. But, the irony is that despite this disaster, the farmers have not received any compensation yet. There is a delay in the process of compensation distribution, due to which there is deep dissatisfaction among the farmers.

Regulator became the big center of problem

Looking at the geographical location of Bisra area, it is not clear that it is a flood affected area, yet flood water enters here every year. Villagers allege that the poor condition of the regulator built from Dihwa to Bisra is the main reason for this disaster. When the water in the Saryu river increases, this regulator is not able to close properly, due to which the water starts accumulating in the lower areas of Bisra and gradually takes the form of flood.

Villagers are demanding permanent solution

Villagers say that after the flood of 1998, the administration should have taken concrete steps to solve this problem. But like every year, this time too only temporary measures were taken. Many areas of Bisra like Maurya Tola, Babu Saheb Tola, and Badhai Tola were flooded, due to which roads and villages were submerged. At the same time, the villagers demand that the situation of the regulator should be improved soon and a permanent solution should be found, so that the damage caused by floods every year can be avoided. At the same time, a request is also being made to speed up the compensation process, so that the farmers can get the rights of their hard work.
