This video is going viral on social media. In the viral video, the police officer is saying – “Which is Azaan at 5 am in the morning, 1.15 pm in the afternoon, 5.15 and 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm at night. In the time of such 5 Azaans, there will be 15 minutes before and 15 minutes before.” After 100 minutes, and within 100 meters of the mosque, no one has the right to do bhajan-kirtan, play musical instruments or recite Hanuman Chalisa etc.” It is further said in the video that Nashik Police Commissioner is saying these things. on Manoj Srivastava While sharing this video, a user named, wrote – “You keep sleeping, now the order has come from Nashik, Sanatanis. This will happen in the whole of India in the coming time. Don’t vote, keep making the future of the country and family dark.”

This video claiming ban on bhajan-kirtan at the time of Azaan was going viral on social media. In such a situation, we decided to investigate this claim. First of all, we took the help of Google Open Search and searched whether any such order has come from the police in Nashik. However, we did not find any news in which this claim was made. After this we searched about it on X with the help of keywords related to the case. As soon as we do this we Nashik Police’s tweet found. In this tweet, the police has described this video as fake and edited.

What did Nashik Police say?

Regarding the viral video, Nashik Police said – “A deliberately edited version of a 2.5 year old video with malicious intent was circulated by suspicious elements on WhatsApp, in which the title of an officer was wrongly stated as Nashik Police Commissioner. This video was also posted on X (former Twitter). We have filed a case against the suspected elements due to this video. Legal action will be taken. Broadcasting of edited versions of videos promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion, caste, place of birth, language etc. is punishable under section 196, 197 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023. Our vigilant cyber team is monitoring all activities online and strictest action will be taken against all such posts.”
