She started her career in the entertainment industry and gained fame for her role as Tulsi Virani in the popular television soap opera “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi,” which aired from 2000 to 2008. Her acting skills and screen presence made her a household name in India.

Smriti Irani’s Political Career:

Irani’s entry into politics began in the early 2000s when she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She held various positions within the party and became a prominent spokesperson. In 2004, she contested the general elections but was unsuccessful. However, she continued her political journey, rising through the ranks within the BJP.
In 2014, Smriti Irani contested the Lok Sabha (lower house of Parliament) elections from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, against Rahul Gandhi, a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress party. In 2016, Irani was appointed as the Minister of Textiles in the Government of India. She was later given the additional charge of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Following her victory, she was appointed as the Minister of Women and Child Development in the Indian government.
