Nanda obtained a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Forman Christian College in Lahore.
He later completed his Master’s degree in economics from Punjab University.

Nanda began his career as a lecturer in economics at the National College in Bombay (now Mumbai).
He went on to work at the Labour Bureau in Punjab and then joined the Indian Railways as a research scholar.

Entry into Politics:
