The government is also continuously emphasizing on farmers to move away from traditional farming and boost their income by taking advantage of organic farming and new technology. In this way, farmers are cultivating catch crops in their fields to increase their income. In such a situation, farmers are earning more profits in less time and at less cost.

Pulse crops are considered very important in agriculture. It completes the amount of protein in the food. Apart from this, it also increases the production capacity of the soil of the fields. There has been a decline in the production of pulses for some time. At the same time, people have suffered losses in other crops also. In such a situation, if farmers cultivate catch crop, they can earn more profits in less time and at less cost. If farmers cultivate peas, a vegetable which is ready in a short period, then their income can easily increase.

Will be ready in 60 days
Dr. Akhilesh Kumar, scientist at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, says that in vegetable farming, peas are ready in 60 to 70 days. Due to this, the field gets vacated on time at the time of sowing of the next crop. In such a situation, farmers can earn extra income by cultivating catch craft in vacant fields in their free time. The demand for vegetable peas is very high in the market. Protein is found in abundance in peas, which enhances the nutritional value.

is rich in protein
Rashmi and Madhu are improved varieties of vegetable peas. It has been developed by the Genetics Department of the Indian Council of Research, New Delhi. In these varieties, fibrous membrane is not found on the surface of the beans like other varieties. 9.3 percent protein is found in this variety of peas. Beans are ready in 60 to 70 days after sowing the crop. Where 60 to 70 quintals can be easily produced per hectare.

Sow in this month
Sandy loam soil is considered most suitable for sowing vegetable peas. There should be a provision for drainage in the field. Otherwise there is a risk of crop damage. The months of September and October are considered most useful for sowing green peas. These crops are sown between the last week of September and mid-October.
