Jhansi: Bundelkhand’s biggest Dussehra festival was going to be special this time. Bundelkhand Dussehra Committee, associated with the royal family of Dubai. Abdullah was invited as the chief guest. Abdullah was called to perform the aarti of Lord Ram and burn Ravana. Posters of this program were put up across the city, but due to opposition from Hindu organizations, Abdullah’s program has been cancelled.
Opposition from Hindu organizations
Bundelkhand Dussehra Committee Chairman Ashok Jain said that Mr. Abdullah was invited because he believes in Sanatan Dharma and has visited many temples in India. He has also met religious leaders like Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham and Rambhadracharya of Chitrakoot. But due to opposition from Hindu organizations, we have now had to refuse Abdullah from coming. Many organizations were opposing this program on social media and elsewhere.
Abdullah will not come now
Ashok Jain said that this protest was not of any foreign guest but of the members of the Muslim community. To avoid any untoward incident on the day of the program, we have forbidden Abdullah from coming. He told that in the Dussehra program, the number of Muslim community is more than the Hindu community, who come to know about the character of Lord Ram. We were also warned about this protest, hence this step had to be taken.
What did Hindu organizations say?
Hindu organizations said that it was not appropriate for a Muslim to be the chief guest in this program. He believed that it could be derogatory towards Hindu religion and could hurt religious sentiments. Hindu organizations also said that there are more Muslims in the program, who come to know the character of Lord Ram.
