Rampur: For the benefit of farmers, many new steps have been taken to make the process of paddy procurement in the district smooth and profitable, so that farmers will be able to get the right price for their paddy produce. Information about the paddy procurement process for the Kharif marketing year 2024-25 was shared in the meeting organized under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Shri Hem Singh. The paddy procurement process has started from October 1, 2024. To provide full benefit of support price to the farmers, 120 purchasing centers have been opened in the district.
The support price of paddy has been fixed at Rs 2,300 per quintal (common) and Rs 2,320 per quintal (grade-A), so that farmers will get the right price for their hard work. In the meeting, the Additional District Magistrate inspected the online process of registration of farmers and directed all the concerned officers to motivate more and more farmers to sell paddy at government purchasing centres. For this, camps will be organized in the villages so that the process of registration on the portal of the Food Department can be simplified.
Farmers can register themselves through any public convenience center or cyber café. If any problem arises, farmers can contact the control room established in the district (0595-2329575). With this initiative, farmers will get fair value for their hard work and transparency will be ensured in the paddy procurement process.
