Railways has taken a big decision in view of the festive crowd during Diwali and Chhath Puja. Indian Railways will run 7,000 special trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja this year, which will facilitate two lakh additional passengers every day. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information on Thursday. According to railway officials, 4,500 special trains were run last year during Diwali and Chhath Puja to cater to the festive rush. According to PTI news, officials said that in view of the increasing number of passengers, the ministry has decided to increase the services this year.

3,050 trips of the train will be operated

According to the news, Northern Railway will run a large number of trains during these festivals as a large number of passengers travel to the eastern parts of the country. Northern Railway, in a recent statement, said it will operate around 3,050 trips of the special train to help people reach their destinations. It said that in the year 2023, Indian Railways ran special festival trains, in which Northern Railway operated 1,082 trips of the special train. This year, 3,050 trips of the train will be operated, which is an increase of 181 percent. Apart from the special train, extra coaches are also being added to the train to accommodate more passengers.

Special train between Bengaluru and Kalaburagi station

South Western Railways has decided to run a special train between Bengaluru and Kalaburagi station to control the extra rush of passengers during the Diwali festival. Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Express special train will depart from Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal, Bengaluru at 9.15 pm on October 30 and November 9 and will proceed via Yelahanka, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal, Adoni, Mantralayam Road, Raichur, Krishna, Yadgir and Shahabad stations next. Will reach Kalaburagi at 7:40 am. In return, this Kalaburagi-SMVT Bengaluru Express special train will depart from Kalaburagi at 9:35 am on both days on October 31 and November 3 and will reach SMVT Bengaluru at 8 pm on the same day via the same route.
