New Delhi. Every train of Indian Railways has some specialty in itself. While some trains are famous for their high speed, some trains are famous for their long journey. But do you know that there is a train in the country which stops at most stations? This is not an ordinary train, but the Howrah-Amritsar Mail, running between Howrah in West Bengal and Amritsar in Punjab, which stops not at 10, 20 or 30 but at 111 stations. This train takes thirty-seven and a half hours to cover the distance of 1,910 kilometres. Surprisingly, despite stopping at so many stations, this train is mostly on time.

Howrah-Amritsar Mail, which has the maximum stoppage in the country, takes two nights and one day to complete its journey. Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express, running on India’s longest route, covers a distance of 4,234 kilometers. It crosses a total of nine states on its way. But, still it stops only at 59 railway stations.

Howrah-Amritsar mail passes through five states
Howrah-Amritsar Mail train, passing through major cities of West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, picks up and drops passengers at 111 stations. Stopping at famous stations like Asansol, Patna, Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly, Ambala, Ludhiana and Jalandhar, this train moves towards its destination.

Howrah-Amritsar time table
This train departs from Howrah station of West Bengal at 7.15 pm. On the third day it reaches Amritsar at 8.40 am. The sleeper class fare of 13005 Howrah-Amritsar Mail is Rs 695. Similarly, the price of third AC is Rs 1870 and that of second AC is Rs 2755. First class fare is Rs 4835. General coach fare is Rs 400.

Similarly, 13006 Amritsar-Howrah mail departs from Amritsar at 6:25 pm (Amritsar-Howrah mail time table) and reaches Howrah station at 7:30 am on the third day. Its sleeper fare is Rs 695 (Amritsar- Howrah mail ticket price), third AC is Rs 1870, second AC is Rs 2755 and first AC is Rs 4835. General ticket is available for Rs 400.
