Flood victims including Shankar Kumar told Local 18 Bihar that they returned to their homes six days after the water receded. Broken stoves were seen in the houses, poisonous snakes were found in the utensils. The grains left in the house were washed away. Some people had kept grains on the neighbor’s terrace. People in the flood affected areas said that the causes of floods, along with their diagnosis, government and administrative failure are coming to the fore every year.

Government claims are just air
People of the ward affected area told that we were taking shelter on the banks of NH 31. Now have returned to the village. All the children of the village are falling ill. There is no system of health care at the government level. Even arrangements for drinking water have not been made for us.

None of the arrangements made by the government for the flood affected people have reached the villagers. Recently, the government talked about sending Rs 7000 to the accounts of flood affected people. But later the affected people told that no amount was received as help.
