The initial investigation of Mumbai Police has focused on the Slum Redevelopment Authority (SRA Project). Baba Siddiqui was the Chairman of Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority from 2000 to 2004. Then many types of allegations were made against him. It was said that Baba Siddiqui misused his position while holding this post. ED is investigating this matter.
Property worth Rs 462 crore seized
In the same case, in 2018, ED had also seized property worth Rs 462 crore of Baba Siddiqui in Bandra West. Baba Siddiqui was accused of helping pyramid developers in the SRA project. This scam is said to be worth around Rs 2 thousand crores. Police are investigating whether Baba Siddiqui was murdered because of this project.
The fourth allegation is also in the custody of the police.
Meanwhile, police sources say that the accused had brought pepper spray to kill Baba Siddiqui. First they wanted to injure him by using pepper spray, then the intention was to spray him with bullets. But before that, one of the accused fired 6 bullets and ultimately Baba Siddiqui died. Police have also arrested the fourth accused in this case.
