Jaipur: Rajasthan government is continuously making efforts to promote tourism. Meanwhile, the Tourism Department signed 142 MoUs for investment of Rs 14000 crore. With this the pre-rising Rasthan summit meetings started. During the programme, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the government is looking to leverage the strengths of the state, be it wildlife, religious circuits or heritage and culture.
During this, he mentioned Mahi Dam located in Banswara, Bisalpur Dam and islands in Chambal river for creating new centers of attraction for tourists. The Chief Minister said that the government is considering privatization to develop the islands as tourist destinations. The previous Congress regime had tried to lease out the islands to private individuals at the end of its tenure, but shelved the plan. The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is focusing on ensuring electricity, water and road connectivity which will also benefit the tourism sector.
“The ERCP for eastern Rajasthan as well as the Yamuna Water Pact for Shekhawati and the Dewas project for the districts in the southern region of the state are being implemented on the ground,” Bhajan Lal said at the event organized by FICCI-Rajasthan. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, who also holds the tourism portfolio, said the tourism department will introduce new policies aimed at attracting investment in hotels, resorts and rural units, which will create new prospects and opportunities in the sector. He said that the government will host IIFA 2025 in March next year, which will provide new opportunities for tourism in Rajasthan.
Tourism Secretary Ravi Jain informed about the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives being given to investors by the department. Tourism Commissioner Vijaypal Singh, RTDC Managing Director Sushma Arora, FICCI Tourism and Culture Committee Chairman Deepak Deva, FICCI Rajasthan Co-Chairman Surendra Singh Shekhawat, Wizcraft Group Co-Founder and Director Sabbas Joseph and industry stakeholders were present on the occasion. .
