‘The mistake of Haryana should not be repeated in Maharashtra, where Congress lost the election due to infighting.’ These clear instructions were given to the leaders of Maharashtra Congress in the meeting held at the house of party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Rahul Gandhi was also present in this meeting, who is said to be angry with the party leaders over the defeat against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana.
These instructions were given to the leaders of Maharashtra Congress because the party feels that if mistakes like Haryana are not repeated then it can win the upcoming elections in the state. It cannot be denied that the continuous tussle between Hooda and Kumari Selja and their supporters in Haryana has damaged the image of the party. Not only this, many contenders for the post of Chief Minister (CM) also showed the party to be disorganized.

On the contrary, despite Congress calling Nayab Singh Saini a ‘weak CM’, BJP appeared to be more in control. This was also told to the leaders of Maharashtra Congress. He was told not to make any public statement or talk about who should be the CM. He gave a clear message, ‘It is the job of the central leadership to decide this.’
Congress leaders were asked not to make any public statement on ticket distribution or seats that the Congress wants, but the Shiv Sena (UBT) or the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are hesitant in giving.
In fact, all the leaders of Maharashtra Congress have been asked to work in the field and convey to the people that the Eknath Shinde government cannot ensure the safety of the people and the law and order situation has broken down. It has also been decided that Gandhi and Kharge will look closely at the affairs of the state. This is an election which the party cannot lose or let go like Haryana.
