New Delhi: On one hand, before Diwali and Chhath, crowd is being seen at Delhi Railway Station due to large number of railway passengers, on the other hand, before the festival, there is a rush of people in the markets. Apart from these two reasons, long queues of vehicles were seen in many areas of Delhi on Sunday. Sunday was a special day for the people of the national capital, as Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh had two consecutive programs. Due to this, vehicular movement was severely affected in some parts of South Delhi.
Traffic was affected near Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where Dosanjh’s second concert in two days as part of his “Dil-Luminati India Tour 2024” was held. Thousands of people had gathered to get a glimpse of the singer-actor. The crowd was so huge that it was difficult to handle.
Police force was deployed at the venue of the ceremony
Delhi Police had deployed adequate number of security forces around the venue to maintain law and order. The traffic advisory issued by the police had said that movement of heavy motor vehicles from Stadium Signal to BP Marg has been restricted from 4 pm to 11 pm. Passengers have been advised to avoid passing through BP Marg, Lodhi Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg and areas around the stadium during this period.
There were long queues of vehicles on these roads
Long queues of vehicles were also seen on Mathura Road. There was more traffic on Mathura Road than usual, due to which vehicles were moving at a slow speed. A similar situation was seen in Rohini area of North-West Delhi. There was heavy traffic on the stretch between Madhuban Chowk and Rohini East metro station, which is quite common during festival times. A lot of traffic was also seen on Najafgarh to Nangloi and Rohtak road.
