Raipur: President Draupadi Murmu on Friday said that AI has become a priority area for the entire world. He said that this emerging technology will open wide opportunities for the youth in various fields. The President also said that the interdisciplinary approach will encourage innovation in the engineering field. Addressing the 14th convocation of NIT Raipur, Murmu also highlighted how Artificial Intelligence will open up opportunities for the youth in various fields.
‘Founding member of India Global Partnership and AI’
The President told the students that the development of technology depends on science. He said, ‘It will be helpful for all of you to have knowledge of cutting-edge technology to make excellent contributions to engineering. In 2024, 2 physicists and 4 chemistry scientists related to AI have received the Nobel Prize. Just as the Industrial Revolution provided mechanical assistance and expansion to human labour, the AI revolution will bring about a major change in the mental sphere. AI has become a priority all over the world. India is a founding member of the Global Partnership on AI. AI will have a profound impact on social, political, economic, strategic and other areas.
‘India’s success has shocked the world’
President Murmu Said that young engineers will get ample opportunities in AI sector. He said that the use of technology in the health care sector is continuously increasing. He emphasized that students from both the fields (engineering and health) should actively work on interdisciplinary collaboration. He said, ‘India’s success in the field of digital inclusion has surprised the world. Our country has the possibilities and capabilities to present other such examples.
President addressed the convocation ceremony at AIIMS
Earlier, while addressing the convocation ceremony at Raipur AIIMS, Murmu said that modern technologies can be used for the welfare of people living in remote areas of the country. The President said that medical professionals have a huge responsibility because their decisions are related to saving life. He also expressed hope that the professionals of the medical sector will play a decisive role in realizing the resolve of making the country a developed India by 2047. In the convocation ceremony, degrees were awarded to 514 students from various fields of medical and nursing. (Language)
