During a 2020 interview with BBC, Ratan Tata’s close aide Shantanu Naidu revealed that the industrialist liked Hollywood action-comedy films. His favorite films were ‘The Other Guy’ and ‘The Lone Ranger’, which was recently remade in 2013.

Despite his love for Hollywood, Ratan Tata had some strange views on Indian cinema. In an old interview with Simi Garewal, she jokingly said that Hindi films have more ketchup than all the restaurants in Bombay combined. He said that although his Hindi has improved, he is still finding it difficult to avoid Hindi films on TV.
