‘Mirzapur’ actor Pankaj Tripathi, who convinced people with his acting in Bollywood, has been married for almost 19 years. The actor had a love marriage with his wife Mridula 19 years ago. Even after so many years, the struggle in his personal life has not become easier. Even after becoming a big name in films, the actor’s war continues with his in-laws. Yes, even today the actors are struggling to establish their relationship. After years of marriage, the actor’s wife Mridula has revealed this. She spoke openly about her personal life and told that till date her mother-in-law (Pankaj’s mother) has not been able to accept her marriage and this is the reason why she has not been able to accept him either.

Recently in Atul’s podcast, the actor’s wife told that they had a love marriage at a time when social structures did not allow it. While interacting with Atul YouTube channel, Mridula revealed that she married Pankaj despite the apprehensions of the families from both sides. She recalled how she first met the actor at her brother’s wedding, who was marrying Pankaj’s sister. Mridula said that while their affection for each other was growing, she feared that their relationship would not be accepted because she was from a family with a high social standing.

“This is still not acceptable,” he said. We are not blood relatives, but in our culture it is unacceptable for a woman to marry into a lower status family when another woman is already married into a higher status family. And since my sister-in-law was married to a person of higher status in my family, I could not be married in her family, which was considered to be of lower status.’
How did you express your feelings to your father?
Mridula was in 9th class and Pankaj was in 11th when they felt feelings for each other for the first time. Later when she was about to marry someone else, she decided to tell the news to her father, who gave a surprised reaction. He remembers his father saying, ‘Why didn’t you tell me earlier?’ I don’t waste time looking for boys. His mother and sister-in-law were feeling dejected.
Mother-in-law still doesn’t accept the relationship
Mridula said that it took time for everyone to accept this relationship, but differences still exist. He said, ‘There was an uproar, an uproar. Sister-in-law was not happy, mother was not happy. They were worried about how he would take care of me, but gradually they started accepting us. Pankaj, Mridula and their families have come a long way since those days. Talking further in this episode, Mridula also mentioned her mother-in-law and said, ‘My mother-in-law has not accepted me till date, for the reasons I have mentioned earlier.
