64 people died due to rain in Marathwada
Let us tell you that 64 people died during the monsoon rains this year in Marathwada region of Maharashtra. In this, 38 people died due to lightning. Officials gave this information on Thursday. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Marathwada includes Jalna, Beed, Parbhani, Latur, Nanded, Osmanabad and Hingoli districts. According to the Revenue Department, maximum deaths of 12 people occurred between June 1 and October 4. At the same time, 16 people have also been injured in different incidents related to rain. According to the report, out of all the people who lost their lives in rain-related incidents, 24 people died due to drowning in floods. Also, 1,585 animals also died during this period.
Rainfall this year was up to 108 percent
In this, maximum number of animals died in Parbhani. Let us tell you that 407 animals died in Parbhani. According to the report, currently 407 lightning arresters have been installed in the area. Of these, 308 are in Beed and 79 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Another report said that this year the maximum number of deaths due to lightning has occurred in Parbhani. Four lightning arresters have been installed there by May 2024. Let us tell you that this year the monsoon rains have been recorded 8 percent more. According to the Meteorological Department, 108 percent rainfall has been recorded in the monsoon season this year.
