Bharatpur : Bharatpur district’s female cricketer Neetu Sharma has been selected in the 15-member Rajasthan team for the National Senior Women’s T-20 Cricket Competition. This competition is being organized by BCCI in Trivandrum, Kerala from 17th October. Neetu Sharma is the first female player from Bharatpur district, who has been selected in the senior women’s cricket team of Rajasthan. Neetu Sharma is a right-handed opening batsman and wicketkeeper.
Bharatpur District Cricket Association Secretary Shatrughan Tiwari told Local 18 that such a big achievement, this is the first time in the cricket history of Bharatpur district that a female player has been selected. Neetu Sharma has been selected on the basis of her excellent performance. Which she recently showed in the state level women’s T-20 cricket competition and Challenger Trophy organized by Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). For the first time, the district team had gone to participate in the state level competition and in this competition, Neetu proved her talent.
His performance attracted the attention of the selectors of Rajasthan team due to which he was selected at the national level. Rajasthan team will play six league matches during this competition in which their opponents will be the teams of Punjab, Delhi, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. Cricket Association Secretary Shatrughan Tiwari said that Neetu’s selection will also inspire other players of the district and it is a proud moment for Bharatpur cricket. And there is a wave of happiness among sports lovers.
On the selection of Neetu Sharma, District Cricket Association selectors Naresh Khatri, Suraj Sharma, Lankesh Siyaram, Prem Singh, Pankaj Goyal and association president Arun Singh along with vice president Vishnu Lohia, joint secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, treasurer Munendra Tiwari and other officials congratulated Neetu.
