Harry Brook scored the first triple century of his Test career in 310 balls. In this way, he became the sixth batsman from England to score a triple century in Test cricket.

New history created by the partnership of Brook and Root

When Harry Brook came to bat, England’s 3 wickets had fallen at the score of 249. After this, Brook along with Root made a record partnership of 454 runs for the fourth wicket and took his team to a huge score. Brook scored a triple century while Root scored a brilliant double century. Root returned to the pavilion after scoring 262 runs. In this way England declared its first innings on the score of 823/7 runs. With this the England team destroyed a 66 year old record.

Actually, this score of the England team is the biggest score made in Test after 66 years. Earlier in 1958, West Indies had declared their innings against Pakistan at Kingston on the score of 790/3 runs. England is the only team in the world which has the record of scoring more than 800 thrice in a Test innings. In the history of Test cricket, only 2 teams have been able to score more than 900. In this, Sri Lanka is at number one and England is at second position.
