Anupgarh. A surprising case has come to light in a village in Anupgarh district of Rajasthan. The bride kept waiting for the wedding procession but the groom did not come. The bride’s family did not give up. The bride’s mother reached the groom’s village along with some people of the village. Panchayat was called. The groom clearly refused to marry in the Panchayat. Now the bride has filed a case with the police accusing the groom of sexual exploitation.
The victim told in the report that her marriage was to take place on Sunday, October 6. The wedding procession was to come from a village in Patroda area. All the preparations for the wedding had been completed. Relatives and acquaintances came home to attend the wedding. The bride was waiting for the wedding procession with henna applied on her hands. When the wedding procession did not arrive on time, the bride could not bear it. She called the groom and asked where was the wedding procession? She was shocked to hear the groom’s answer. The groom said that he would not bring the wedding procession. On hearing this, the ground slipped under the feet of the bride’s family.
The victim told the police, ‘I live alone with my mother. I met the groom at the Dada Pammaram fair in Anupgarh in February 2022. We both took each other’s mobile numbers. Then the conversation started on the phone. On the night of 26th February, around 11 pm, the groom and his friend came near my house on a bike and called me out on the phone. Then he took me to his house and forcibly had sex with me. His companion kept monitoring outside.
Accused who got a woman aborted out of wedlock
The victim also alleged that ‘the groom repeatedly sexually assaulted me by threatening me due to which I became pregnant. I got an abortion on 21st September. Based on the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against the groom. The investigation of the case has been handed over to DSP Amarjeet Chawla.
