The cyclonic storm may affect the coasts of Odisha and West Bengal. The Meteorological Department and the local administration have advised fishermen to return from the beaches by Monday.

The exact location of the cyclone’s landfall is not yet known. According to a report, this cyclone can make landfall in Puri. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the cyclone formed over the North Andaman Sea and the adjacent Bay of Bengal on Sunday has formed a low pressure area over the East-Central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent North Andaman Sea.

Cyclonic storm will come on Wednesday

IMD said, ‘This cyclone originating from the Bay of Bengal will move towards west-northwest and will intensify on Tuesday morning. There is every possibility of it turning into a cyclonic storm over East-Central Bay of Bengal by Wednesday, October 23.

Impact of the storm will be visible on October 24

The Meteorological Department said that there is a high possibility of this storm moving in a north-westerly direction and reaching the north-west Bay of Bengal near the coasts of Odisha and West Bengal by the morning of October 24.

heavy rain alert

The Meteorological Department said that some places in the coastal region may receive 20 cm rainfall on October 24-25. The intensity of rain may increase by 20 to 30 cm. Due to the cyclonic storm, there may be rainfall of more than 30 cm at some places.

There will be heavy rain in these districts of West Bengal

Due to the cyclone, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Gajapati. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder in these areas. Along with this, there is an alert of heavy rain in East Medinipur, West Medinipur, South 24 Parganas and North 24 Parganas of West Bengal. The Meteorological Department said that Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly and Jhargram may receive heavy rain between October 23 and 24. Kolkata weather office said.
