Purnima, a resident of Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, has done something similar. In the mountains, where women are often confined to the kitchen, Purnima is taking the tourists from India and abroad on an exciting trip. Purnima is a resident of Raithal, a small village in Uttarkashi. Apart from being a tourist guide, she is also a water sports instructor and also runs a homestay in Rathal.
Purnima told Local 18 that beautiful mountains like Shrikhand, Jonli and DKD 2 are visible from the courtyard of her house. One day she was sitting in the courtyard of her house and looking at the mountains, when a thought came to her mind that she was born in the mountains and knows the mountains very well, yet she never gets tired of looking at the mountains. He thought that if he takes the tourists coming from India and abroad on a tour of the mountains and makes them aware of the culture, civilization and food here, then this will also support their livelihood and will also promote tourism in the area.
Interested in adventure tourism since childhood
Purnima told that she has done MA in Political Science but she wanted to go into the field of adventure tourism since childhood, so she did a mountaineering course from Nehru Mountaineering Institute, Uttarkashi and taking advantage of the government schemes, she did kayaking and rafting in Rishikesh. Also did a paragliding course. After this, she takes adventure tours to tourists in Uttarkashi as an instructor.

Purnima has been taking tourists to major tourist places like Dayara Bugyal, Sattal, Dodi Tal, Harshil, Gartang Gali, Gomukh and Tapovan for the last 3 years. She not only takes tourists to visit these beautiful places but also tells them about responsible tourism.
