Ghaziabad: An important step has been taken towards improving the air quality of Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh. A grant of Rs 34 crore will be given to Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. This will further improve the air quality of the city.

Use of funds for pollution control
The main objective of this grant is to reduce dust and pollution in areas where it is highest. According to municipal officials, the construction department has started identifying areas where air pollution has been found to be high. Special efforts will be made to control pollution at these places, so that the air of Ghaziabad can be cleaned.

Improvement in PM-10
According to the Central Pollution Control Board report, PM-10 levels in Ghaziabad have seen an improvement of up to 16 percent, which is a positive sign for the city. However, further improvements are still required and this additional funding will play an important role in this direction.

Efforts are being made in other districts also
Apart from Ghaziabad, efforts are going on to improve air quality in other districts of the state also. Continuous steps are being taken by the government so that the air of all the districts can be made clean and healthy. Positive results have been seen from the efforts made in Ghaziabad and it is expected that the air of the city will become even cleaner in the coming times.
