Senior doctor Suvarna Goswami told a news channel, “Aniket Mahato’s health has deteriorated. She was taken to RG Kar Hospital and will be admitted to the ICU. Mahato and some other doctors have been agitating for the last two months demanding justice for the victim. Another agitating doctor who was with Mahato said, “His pulse is at a lower rate than normal and his other health is not well.” The state health department has sent a team of four specialist doctors to the site in the Esplanade area. Was sent to the place where the doctors are sitting on fast so that the health condition of the seven doctors who are on hunger strike for the last five days can be assessed.
