A tragic accident has occurred during fireworks in a temple near Nileshwar in Kasaragod district of Kerala. More than 150 people were injured in this accident that happened late on Monday night. The condition of 8 of the injured is critical. According to the information received, the police suspect that this unfortunate accident occurred after a fire broke out in the fireworks storage near Veerakavu Temple.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Kasaragod, Kannur and Mangaluru soon after the accident. In view of the worrying situation, top officials of the district administration including the Collector and the District Police Chief have reached the spot. He has given instructions to take immediate action to provide relief to the affected people.
A massive fire broke out in firecrackers, 2 dead
At the same time, a husband and wife died and another girl was injured in a fire that broke out in a two-storey building in East Chandra Nagar near Yakatpura Railway Station in Hyderabad at around 11 pm last night. A fire broke out on the first floor of the building, where pastries were being baked. The fire then spread to boxes of firecrackers and cotton kept for sale nearby. Usharani (50) and her husband Mohan Lal (58) died in the accident and 18-year-old Shruti was injured. Shruti was admitted to Osmania General Hospital.
